3 Countries in 4 Nights – Part 2: Liechtenstein

3 Countries in 4 Nights – Part 2: Liechtenstein

I admit I’m a bit of a travel snob. While I’ll fly anywhere, I take particular interest in destinations off the beaten path. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy cities like Rome and Paris. But I enjoy exploring lesser known destinations more. It’s why places like East Timor, the Marshall Islands, and Palau are so high on my list. It’s also why we had to include a side trip to Liechtenstein when planning this Switzerland and France trip.

3 Countries in 4 Nights – Part 1: Flying to Switzerland

Fall is the best time to travel if you’re flying standby. The weather is cooler, the large tourists crowds have dispersed, and most importantly, flights are typically open. It’s why I will typically schedule one of my vacation weeks in October. While my friend and I had discussed trips as far flung as South Africa, Sri Lanka, or New Zealand, we decided on a slightly easier trip, planning a visit to Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and France.

24 Hours in Rome – Part 3

24 Hours in Rome – Part 3

While I typically can arrive 90 minutes or so before departure at most airports and make my flight in plenty of time, I wouldn’t even think about it in Rome, as the check-in process takes ages. This day was no exception, and I actually had to wait a couple minutes for the crowd to clear to grab a photo.

4 Months in the Philippines – Part 8: Stopover in Tokyo

After 112 days living abroad in Cebu, it was finally time to make the trek back to Minneapolis. The routing for the return flights home would be similar to the outbound, Cebu up to Tokyo on Philippine Airlines, and then Delta back to Minneapolis. Being in Asia already , I decided that I wanted to stay a day in Tokyo before continuing home.

4 Months in the Philippines – Part 7: Bantayan

4 Months in the Philippines – Part 7: Bantayan

As tourism to the Philippines increases, much of the focus is around two islands. One of them is Boracay, which I discussed in a previous post. The other is Palawan, located west of Cebu, which is consistently ranked at or near the top of the best islands to visit in the world. Sadly, I didn’t get the chance to experience Palawan during my time in the Philippines. However, with almost 7,200 islands to explore, there are plenty of hidden gems.
